We had the pleasure of interviewing Evelyn, the co-owner of Thrift Vintage Outlet, a physical store located near Miami, Florida. The store is owned by Evelyn and her partner Ryan. Thrift Vintage Outlet hosts free local events, such as yoga and vendor markers once a month to help build the community of thrifting. The store is located across the street from their wholesale warehouse, which is open once a month, selling vintage by the pound!
Evelyn and Ryan also own, Thrift Vintage Fashion, an online vintage and retro wholesaler store supplying vintage clothing to shops worldwide. They also sell small mystery boxes for consumers looking to thrift for themselves. Read her story below.
1. Please introduce yourself and your business to the T&T community.
Ryan and I are both partners in life and partners in business. We started this business from our garage in 2020 when COVID-19 began. We saw a need in the market for an online wholesaler and created a website around that. Once we moved into a warehouse we had people always calling to come into our warehouse however, we had a really strict rule of not allowing anyone to pick through our mixes to be fair to our customers overseas. That’s when we decided to open up our first retail store- Thrift Vintage Outlet– open to the public.

2. How would you describe the items you curate for your store?
The items we curate are usually what you find trending in streetwear fashion, we are also always taking feedback from our customers and bringing in categories we see them asking for us to carry.
3. What’s the key to a successful thrift business?
The key to success for us has been learning to pivot quickly. We are quick and open to trying new ideas but quicker to move on when we see they are not working.
4. What has been your best thrift find personally and/or for the shop?
Best thrift find, for me it’s always the perfect pair of jeans I wear every day. A good pair of jeans for every day are underestimated.
5. What’s your thrifting secret?
Patience, and only buy something if it makes you feel excited.
6. Any tips for aspiring resellers?
Advice, buy wholesale, you save time and energy that you can put into growing your business. It’s the only way to grow your reseller business.
