Yesterday, my modeling agency, Role Models Management, hosted a Vision Board Party as a way to kick off the new year. Let me tell you, my agents sure do know how to throw an event!
Here is a walkthrough of our day:
The event began with a guided meditation session led by my eco-warrior agent, Anne, and followed with an ethical fashion discussion from Remake, a nonprofit organization focused on making fashion a force for good. They provided us with shirts to inspire us to always be proud to #WearOurValues
The ladies from Remake made us cry by sharing the tragic story of the
They also encouraged us to check out their online resources and events designed to help consumers break up with fast-fashion. Pretty much they are a company after my own heart.
Next, our fellow Role Model, Jessica introduced us to an app she co-founded called Tap. This app helps eliminate the need for buying single-use water bottles by displaying nearby water refill stations to its users.
We then talked about food-waste with Imperfect Produce, a customizable delivery box service that ships ugly produce to your door at a discounted rate. Did you know approximately 20 billion pounds of produce goes to waste on farms every year? A portion of that produce goes to waste simply because its “cosmetically challenged” according to modern grocery store standards.
Imperfect produce encouraged us as consumers to only buy what we need when grocery shopping and to use our food scraps in creative ways (such as: creating a soup stock with veggie scraps or creating an all-purpose cleaner with orange peels).
Beaming Organic Superfoods Cafe catered our event with delicious salad and drink options. I tried the Rockstar drink, which was a thick protein drink with banana, almond milk, and cinnamon flavors; Yum!
Last but not least, we created our vision boards. Click here to see mine. This activity was so much fun and very inspiring. Sharing our goals and connecting with other like-minded men and women was such an awesome way to spend
