Finding zero waste shops can be a challenge, especially depending on which city you live in. I am lucky to say that there are quite a few zero waste shops in LA that allow you to buy eco-friendly alternatives and allow you to buy in bulk. The idea of zero waste shopping can seem overwhelming but the staff at these stores are super friendly and willing to help. Here are the best zero waste shops in LA.

1. Sustain LA

5214 Monte Vista St, Los Angeles, CA 90042

This shop has the cutest decor and has a great array of home and products. They have quite a few kitchen goods, bathroom goods, and of course a bulk refill station for things like laundry detergent, hand soaps, all-purpose cleaners and more. You are allowed to bring your own bottles to fill (empty jam or salsa containers work great or pick up a mason jar at your local thrift store). You can also purchase containers at Sustain LA. There is a weighing station that allows you to first weigh your container, so you only pay for what you fill up. The infographic on the wall makes it easy for new and returning customers to easily recall how to shop in bulk.

2. No Tox Life

3351 Fletcher Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90065

This shop also has a super cute aesthetic and is owned by a mother & daughter team. They sell natural, vegan body, beauty, and home products. Some of the products that can be found here include bamboo toothbrushes, natural deodorant, homemade soap, mascara, are so much more. They have bulk products available, so be sure to bring your own container to fill up on items such as facial cleanser, shampoo, conditioner, and/or body wash.

3. Wild Terra

5858 N Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90042

This store is a community apothecary (drug & medicine store) that sells bulk organic herbs, teas, spices and more. Some other items you can buy in bulk include local honey, everyday pantry items (like oats, flour, baking soda), dish soap, essential oils, etc. Wild Terra LA also sells books and fair trade gifts. I was super impressed with their overall selection.
