I know there is a love/hate relationship on the internet with the phrase “New year, new me.” Maybe the phrase should be “New year, new chance to attempt at ways to become the best me that I can be.” But that doesn’t really have a good ring to it, now does it? Personally, I do not see a problem with wanting to become a better version of ourselves. Of course, we shouldn’t wait until the start of a new year to make life improvements, but sometimes that is what it takes. If changing the calendar to 2019 is the reason behind the motivation, then so be it. At least there is an effort being made, and hopefully, that effort sticks throughout the entire year (and maybe even years to come). So here I am, starting my year off right by setting my 2019 goals.
2018 Goal Recap:
Create Less Waste
I made progress towards this goal, but I have a long way to go. I now feel comfortable refusing plastic straws and after moving to LA, I quickly learned to start bringing my own shopping bags. I still create more waste than I would like to because I still eat lots of Chick-fil-A and In-N-Out Burger. Fast-food packaging is definitely in need of an environmentally-friendly refresh.
Get Healthy
I only recently started making strides towards working out. So this goal is still in the works.
Consume Less, Create More
I mentioned last year that I wanted to create more for my blog. I wish I created more posts than I actually did. So this goal is still in the works. I am also still trying to discover new hobbies where I can create and express myself.

My 2019 goals:
Listen to more audiobooks
Recently this has become my new favorite thing, especially since commuting in Los Angeles means a lot of my time is spent in the car. I just finished I Almost Forgot About You by Terry McMillan and it was wonderful.
Practice More Self Care
Back in August, I made the decision to dedicate my Saturdays to self-care. This means every Saturday now involves face masks, hair masks, and lots of self-love.
Work Out Regularly
I’ve never been one to work out, but recently because of modeling, I realized I should make an effort at getting toned. Also, my bf recently became a gym lover. He’s been inspiring me to get up and move as much as possible. Being active makes me feel great and energized, so I really need to focus on making movement a priority in my life.
Further educate myself on sustainability
This year I want to understand and learn
Be more present
I am usually glued to my phone. Not when I’m out at lunch with friends, but when I’m cuddling with my bf or chilling in the kitchen with my parents. I need to not focus on my phone so much and start focusing on those around me.
Drink More Water
I do not drink nearly the amount of water that is recommended. This is careless of me and I know it. So, as another act of self-care, I will make more of an effort to give my body the hydration it needs.
